To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee -1960

    To Kill A Mockingbird
    Harper Lee
    J.B. Lippincott Company: Philadelphia, 1960

First edition, thirty-fifth printing. Brown paper backed in green cloth with gilt titles with original dust jacket. Very good in a good dust jacket. Light damp stain to head and tail of spine, corners sharp; endpapers show faint stains, text is otherwise clean and unmarked, binding sound. Price clipped dust jacket is chipped along top edge, shows general signs of wear and is now protected in an archival mylar cover.

A ground breaking work. While this is a later printing of the first edition, only 5,000 copies were created in the first printing as Harper Lee was an unknown writer who had never been published. She won the Pulitzer for this work in 1961, indicating this copy was likely printed at that time. Despite the slightly shabby exterior, this copy has a sort of magnetism to it.
