First American Edition, First Printing. Green gray buckram wrapped in an unclipped pictorial dust jacket. Fine in a near fine dust jacket. A square, clean copy, pages are unmarked and binding is tight; dust jacket shows very minimal wear on rear panel and is now protected in an archival mylar cover.

A well kept copy of this work of science fiction from Hugo and Nebula Award winner Brian Aldiss. Brian Aldiss also wrote the short short that inspired the Stanley Kubrick-developed Steven Spielberg film A.I. Artificial Intelligence.

From the Jacket, “Knowle Noland in a hallucinatory state has grounded his nuclear freighter, The Trieste Star, on the African coast of New Angola.
